PALE

Pan-African Learning Exchange – Corrections Knowledge & Practice Exchange Program

The Pan-African Learning Exchange (PALE) is PADCI’s continental platform for sharing corrections knowledge, innovations, and best practices among African correctional services, training institutions, and reform actors. It enables peer learning, South–South collaboration, and the spread of dignity-based corrections models across Africa.

Why PALE Matters?

African correctional services often work in isolation despite facing similar challenges such as overcrowding, staff stress, resource constraints, and reform pressures. Valuable innovations remain localized and undocumented. A structured continental learning platform allows African systems to learn from each other, adapt proven practices, and accelerate reform. The Learning Exchange builds a shared African corrections reform community.
